Well, we went to see the specialist today. Yes we're seeing a specialist since I'm considered high risk now. Our last pregnancy I requested that we try treating it as a normal pregnancy (refused to be followed by the specialist) but since we all know how that one turned out I think my regular doc decided she didn't want to be to be involved (maybe she knows that I'm extremely close to losing it this time around).
Alas, to keep a short story short we're seeing a high risk doctor. Pretty much he hasn't limited any of my activities (so I'm not sure what his specialty is) but I'm taking him at his word. I've kept busy thus far with Nordic skiing (skate and classic though I try to limit it to classic as much as possible since its a bit easier on me).
Dwayne and I are tossing the idea of travel in March/April and other than recommending we get good travel coverage we're not limited there either (we'll be somewhere between 20 and 28 weeks if we get that far).
I'm also scheduled for work travel from 15.5-17 weeks and since this was the time frame when we ruptured with the twins, I'm a little nervous. I'm sure that work will keep me occupied. As long as we don't have the ongoing and massive bleeding we had with the twin pregnancy I think its pretty safe to say we'll be ok.
Otherwise the specialist will be frequently checking me for infections (the only possible cause for our previous incident of pPROM). We've been told we have a 5% chance of it happening again. I dont' care if it happens again, I do care as to when though. PROM after 36 weeks I'll be ok with.
The specialist has a mini ultrasound machine in his office so we got to see the now fetus once again. Again its measuring on schedule (actually one day ahead but the machine is crappy so we can't put any faith in that) and the heartbeat of 161 looks good.
PS - around this time the boys hearbeats were 164 and 165 so its looking pretty similar with this one.
